SUBMIT AN ARTICLE TO EDUKACJA ETYCZNA

„Edukacja Etyczna” journal publishes texts in Polish and English. We invite you to submit scholarly articles (we prefer texts not exceeding 40,000 characters with footnotes) related to the philosophical profile of our journal.

Submitted texts should contain a page with the following data:

  • the affiliation of the author,
  • ORCID number of the author,
  • the title of the article
  • summary (up to 300 words)
  • a short biographical note about the author
  • up to 5 keywords related to the article
  • bibliography

For the article itself, please use the following formatting:
a) font size 12pt; 1.5 line spacing; margins 2.5cm
b) foreign words: italics
c)  in quotes:  „a”, breaks in quotes: […], quotes within the quotations  « a »
d) the distinction in the text is made with spacing out [please do not use the bolded font]

We kindly ask authors to ensure that the information contained in the content of the article they think should be removed / invisible during the anonymous review is marked in the text with the color highlighting (with the yellow color).

There are no article processing charges (APCs) in our journal.
There are no article publishing charges in our journal.

COPYRIGHTS

Authors of texts accepted for publication are asked to send to the editors’ address a signed publishing agreement regulating copyright issues and their transfer to the publisher of the journal.

In the case of cooperation or involvement of third parties (e.g. institutions financing research) in the creation and content of the article, the authors are obliged to provide relevant information to the editors. In the case of co-authorship, the contribution of individual authors in the creation of the article should also be specified. Each co-author is obliged to send a signed publishing contract.

The journal  „Education Etyczna” provides free access to all the content published in, in accordance with the principle that the possibility of conducting research in an unlimited manner has a positive effect on the common exchange of knowledge. The publishing activity of „Ethics Education” is based on Polish and international legal regulations in the field of copyright. All content of the magazine is available free of charge in an electronic version under the Creative Commons license (Attribution – Non-commercial use – No dependent works 3.0 Poland, CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 PL).

REVIEW PROCESS

The submitted texts are initially evaluated by the editors of the journal. Consequently, we notify the author of the initial acceptance of the text for evaluation and submission of the article for review or refusal to accept the text.

In the next stage, the editors check whether the text contains information that allows the author to be identified during the review process. Any information indicating the authorship of the text is removed before sending the text to the anonymous review.

The editors then select two reviewers to evaluate the text. Reviewers proceed to the evaluation of the article on the condition that there is no conflict of interest in relation to the research subject in the given article or in relation to the author/authors. „Edukacja Etyczna” does not provide texts for review to persons who are in a family or professional relationship in relation to the author/authors of the evaluated text.

Editors of „Ethics Education” strive to avoid selecting reviewers with an obvious potential conflict of interest (for example, those who work in the same institution as the authors). We also encourage authors of submitted papers to provide with the manuscript a list of names of people who, in their opinion, should not be asked to review the text because of a potential conflict of interest. Where possible, authors should justify or clarify the nature of the reported conflict of interest.

Reviewers of „Ethical Education”, to whom we send texts, are asked to disclose to the editors any conflicts of interest that could affect their opinion about the work. We also inform reviewers that it is forbidden to use knowledge about the evaluated work before its publication. Reviewers of „Ethics Education” use a standard reviewing form in which they indicate, with justification, their decision regarding the publication of the text.

The reviewer can indicate the following options:

1. Accepting the text in an unchanged form
2. Accepting the text after making minor revisions
3. Accepting the text after major revisions
4. The article does not meet the requirements of the scholarly article and should be rejected.

On the basis of the opinions provided by the reviewers, the editors of the journal „Education Etyczna” decide on the further fate of the article. The article, based on the opinions issued, may be forwarded to further editorial and publication work, sent back to a thorough correction in accordance with the reviewers’ comments or rejected. In the case of divergent opinions contained in the submitted reviews, the editorial board may decide to appoint a third reviewer. Authors of the reviewed texts receive the content of the review and possible hints from the reviewer about the corrections. At the request of the author of the text, it is possible to send comments/ opinions/ comments/questions to the reviewer of the article through the editors of „Edukacja Etyczna”, maintaining the anonymity of both sides.

EDITORIAL CODE OF ETHICS

The editors of „Edukacja Etyczna” have adopted and apply the principles of publication ethics in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee for Publication Ethics (COPE).

The editors of „Ethics Education” consistently implement the practice standards (Core practices) defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The editors of „Ethical Education” strive to prevent any unfair copyright practices, above all plagiarism and „ghostwriting”. We use available online databases of journals and anti-plagiarism software. In the event of manifestations of scientific misconduct and violation of publishing ethics rules, we notify appropriate entities (including the entity employing the author) about detected misconduct.

Each time, when misconduct is detected, decisions about the publication are made during the meeting of members of the editorial staff of the journal.

In justified cases, we place on our website explanations, corrections and apologies referring to the previously published issues of the magazine. Any complaints and appeals relating to the activities of the journal „Edukacja Etyczna” can be sent by e-mail to the following address: redakcja@edukacjaetyczna.pl or by mail to the following address: „Edukacja Etyczna”, Institute of Philosophy and Sociology UP, ul. Decisions regarding complaints and appeals are made by the editorial office within 30 days of receiving the relevant letter. Issues regarding published texts and corrections In the case of the appearance of significant new information about the content published in the journal „Edukacja Etyczna”, the editors place them on the journal’s website, along with an annotation next to the publication file.

Decisions regarding possible corrections or withdrawal of contents already published are always made by the editors of „Edukacja Etyczna” and relevant information is published on the website of the journal.
